If you have already owned a network attached storage system, you may wish to have a smart doorbell that can deliver video stream to work with it. We are delighted to introduce the J5 smart doorbell which complies ONVIF to work with Synology/Qnap NAS as the way the IP cameras do.

Enabling ONVIF connection for J5 doorbell

Before adding J5 to your existing video surveillance system, you need to logon the app, and enable ONVIF in the doorbell's settings.

Run the "CloudEdge" app and login your account, selecting the doorbell you want to enable "ONVIF", tapping edit button, selecting "Advanced features" from the menu.

Enable "Onvif Settings", here you're able to know the Onvif information for this device. Writing down the IP address and input a new password for Onvif connection, tapping "Submit" to complete. Now your doorbell is ready for ONVIF connection.

Modify password for ONVIF Connection

Adding the device to your NVR/NAS/VMS, running the adding camera setup wizard for the Dahua/Hikvision NVR, the doorbell will be discovered automatically, click "Edit" then modify the password and confirm to complete.

Running the surveillance station on your Synology NAS, adding the camera, and select "Onvif device" from brands/manufacturer column.

Add J5 doorbell to BlueIris VMS software

Running the BlueIris VMS software, ensuring the computer and the doorbell are in the same local network, right click on the main screen on the right, and select "Add a new device", fill camera nambe, tick "Network IP) from type list, tick "Enable audio" and click "OK" to continue.

Deleting existing password, and input the ONVIF password, then click "Find/inspect..." button on "Network IP camera configuration" pop-up window.

The software will automatically detect and list the cameras, you can choose the doorbell camera based on the S/N. e.g. http://192.168.1.49:8000/onvif/device_service

Click "OK" to add the camera into BlueIris, all set, and you're able to view the doorbell on your computer via BlueIris software.

Software feature

J5 smart doorbell includes Tuya and CloudEdge two different firmware. Ensuring you buy the CloudEdge firmware version if you want to integrated it to other system such as NVR, NAS, VMS. Hardware feature

J5 is a smart doorbell, it’s equipped with a 2-megapixel CMOS image sensor to capture crystal clear image and deliver 2K (3MP, 2304x1296) FHD resolution video. Comparing to similar products in market, the J5 has a super wide angle lens that offers 140 degree viewing angle. Additionally, it comes with 20 degree angle mount bracket that helps the camera to achieve 166 degree field of view.

J5 is not only the best smart doorbell for a fresh installation, it’s also an ideal smart doorbell for users who want to upgrade their existing conventional door chime system. Furthermore, the smart doorbell supports next generation motion detection which allows users to select the detecting region on the image through app. Moreover, it includes a microSD card slot to provide local video storage and users pay no monthly fee for cloud storage. Lastly, J5 smart doorbell includes the smart doorbell and a wireless chime receiver, the wireless chime receiver will make sound when doorbell button is pressed.
