Important notes before buying this item:
- This smart intercom will not work on 5GHz Wi-Fi, it only works on 2.4GHz band.
- You need to download and install "Tuya smart / Smart Life" from Google Play store and Apple Store.
- Make sure the smart intercom fits perfectly within its housing otherwise an tamper-protection will trigger.
- Ensure any cables are passing through the correct channel at the back of the smart intercom.
- Ensuring your smartphone and doorbell connects to the same Wi-Fi network if trying to setup the device using Wi-Fi.
- Not using the mobile network, when trying to setup the device.
Installation Guide
The smart doorbell can be powered using either the provided black cable with a white plug which runs directly to the power supply or, it can also be powered up using PoE. Most of the wires are there for the door unlocking function and for the remote control circuit which is also used for door unlocking. Really the only wire you need to use for the bell to be up and running is the black wire which has a small white rectangular plug on one end and a black larger circular plug on the other end. So first you need to connect the white rectangular plug to the back of the bell right where it says 12v DC, this is what will be delivering the power to the bell. ‘This wire will fit only one way around as there’s a notch on the plug on the side of the bell.’
The other end of that wire will connect to the power supply provider in the box. Now the bell should have power. Obviously you would need to connect the power supply to the mains first. Don’t switch it on yet. Next connect the internet cable to the back of the bell, this is a standard Ethernet cable with an RJ45 connector. Now the other end of the Ethernet cable needs to be connected to the modem.

Tuya Smart / Smart Life doorbells do not support ONVIF Protocol. Tuya SD-M3 supports GoogleHome and Amazon Echo. If you want to use the PoE feature, it's recommended to connect it to a PoE switch. Alternatively, you can use the PoE injector (must be an endspan, mode A/1236).
